Historic Districts

The courthouse is on the National Register, which carries no local fence review.

Design Requirements
Finished side faces out. Support posts, braces and supports go on the inside of the enclosed area. The fence must be built in a way that enhances the look of the neighborhood, and kept structurally sound and in good repair, free of loose or rotting material. Fence and wall violations are on the city's Top 10 code enforcement list.

None. The city writes no gate rule; pool gates follow the state pool code.
Floodplain Rules
In a mapped flood hazard area a city development permit comes before any development, which the code defines as any man-made change to the land including buildings or other structures. Along a stream with no mapped flood elevations, and where the city cannot obtain that data elsewhere, nothing may go within 20 ft of the top of the bank, or the width of the stream, whichever is greater, unless an engineer certifies it will not raise flood levels more than 1 ft.
